Welcome to the Web site of Chris Shumway!   I am the Director of University Television at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. I'm also an Instructor in the Department of Communication. I teach courses in Video Production, Broadcast Announcing, Oral Communication, and Mass Media. More information about our Radio-TV-Film program can be found here.   Students can find online resources for a particular course or topic by clicking the appropriate link to the left.   I've also added a page with links to job and internship resources for Radio-TV majors.

Before coming to Capital University, I co-authored (with Robert Berkman) a book called Digital Dilemmas: Ethical Issues for Online Media Professionals, which can be ordered online from Blackwell publishing.    This site also includes some personal information (my resume/CV and lists of my favorite writers) plus links to independent news sites and organizations working on various media reform issues.
